Located in Penrith NSW, our premises are a really nice place to be.
They were designed specifically to be accessible, with:
- Wide corridors so you have plenty of room to use your cane or be guided by someone else
- Wide doorways so that speeding wheelchairs don’t crash! It also means that if you do use a wheelchair, you can move independently
- Easy-to-use bathroom and toilet fittings, with plenty of room for wheelchairs
- Plenty of toilets means no waiting. Two toilets are large and accessible, and one has a shower, just in case
- The tables and benches in our kitchen are at different heights, so if you’re in a wheelchair you can be sure to find the right place to sit comfortably or join in an activity, and
- The lighting is consistent throughout the building, an absolute necessity if you have a vision impairment.
We have an Exploration Room, filled with all sorts of fun things that will stimulate your senses, and which is home to two massage chairs.
We also have a Music Room full to the brim with musical equipment including a complete sound system, keyboards, drums, guitars, shakers, lagerphones, and so much more! After all, who doesn’t love a bit of karaoke?
The NDIS world
In 2016, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Chairman Bruce Bonyhady said about the roll out of the NDIS, “This is a historic day for people with disability and the broader Australian community – today we move away from the old one-size-fits-all approach to a new approach which is based on choice and control for people with disability on a scale not seen anywhere in the world.”
The NDIS is transforming the way you receive disability support.
SEE Foundation will ensure you get the support that’s right for you.
SEE Foundation promises to deliver quality services in the spirit of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). After all, putting you at the centre of decision-making is how we’ve always worked, and is the way we’ll continue to work.
Your choices remain at the core of everything we do. Your needs are central to our organisational focus. And your feedback is key to our ongoing development and improvement.
